During the 7th Annual Maude’s Award ceremony held this week in Seattle, WA, the Respite for All Foundation was named winner in the “Supporting Care Partners” organization category.
Maude’s Awards was developed to gather and share innovations that will enrich the quality of life for persons living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and their care partners. Selected organizations receive a $25,000 award.
The Respite for All Foundation (RFA) is a national leader in replicating a proven model of sustainable, non-medical, volunteer-staffed, four-hour respite that serves families living with dementia. By de-medicalizing dementia support, RFA is helping expand opportunities for affordable, accessible support for family caregivers and meaningful social engagement for people living with dementia.
“We are deeply honored to receive the prestigious Maude Award,” said Daphne Johnson, CEO, Respite for All. “This recognition is shared with our respite teams across the country who show up, week after week, for people living with dementia and their caregivers. They ease the stress of caregiving, build genuine friendships, and help churches and host organizations come alive. We’re grateful to every participant, caregiver, volunteer, director, and partner who makes this movement possible.”
Maude’s Awards annually makes up to eight awards for existing innovations that have demonstrated success in one of four categories of care.
Those Award Categories for this year’s recipients are:
Making Connections - Connecting people with dementia to the world and people around them.
Supporting Care Partners - Providing education, training, or support for care partners of persons living with dementia.
